After exploring a potential sale for more than two years, the YMCA of the National Capital Region has made a decisive commitment to retain and reinvest in its flagship Argyle Avenue location, remaining in place for at least five years. This decision aligns with their new Strategic Plan 2025-2030, which was shaped by extensive community consultations involving key partners, donors, and members. Under the leadership of President and CEO Trevor McAlmont, this strategic move ensures that the YMCA can continue delivering essential community services while unlocking the long-term value of its asset.

 

Our role includes optimizing the property’s interior spaces for programming, seeking out opportunities for green and sustainable retrofits, addressing key building maintenance needs, and identifying innovative partnership opportunities. These efforts will ensure the YMCA remains a cornerstone of the community, continuing to provide vital services including health and fitness programs, employment training, and transitional housing for years to come.
